The Main Door

Dec 25th, 2006 • Category: House

The front door of a house is very important since it lets in qi that can be beneficial or harmful to the occupants. If the qi is beneficial then it is good to use the door often. The area around the outside of the door should be beautiful with lovely flowers and a winding walkway to the door. The porch or outside entry should be kept clean and swept. The more beautiful and clean the area outside the door the happier the qi will be when it comes inside.

The area inside the door should be welcoming and uncluttered. It is best if there is an entry space that allows guests to place their shoes on a rack and hang their coats, hats and a place to put their purses upon entering. The qi will come in with the people and as they stand in the entry placing their belongings the qi will have time to collect before being moved into the other areas of the house by the people.

The door should be in good proportion to the size of the house. If it is too small the occupants are more likely to engage in arguments over petty issues. If it is too large, then the finances may suffer.

The door should be hung so that it does not stick. When the house settles the door may begin to stick. This is the time to adjust the door so that it opens and closes with grace.

Keep an eye on the door frames so they can be replaced should any rot occur. Bent, broken or rotting door frames can have a negative impact on the occupants fortune.
